Swimming Pool
“There is no such thing as conversation…there are intersecting monologues…that is all. We speak, we spread around us with sounds, with words an emanation of ourselves. Sometimes they overlap the circles that others are spreading round themselves.....” Rebecca West
Four women are permanent inhabitants of a municipal swimming pool and the audience are invited to join them in the changing room, at poolside and ultimately in the water.
I am delighted that Stella Duffy is now providing dramaturgical support for the project.
This play began life as part of the Emerging Writers Residency at Traverse Theatre Edinburgh.
Its development is being supported by the Brighton Dome and Festival.
