I Maybe Sometime
I Maybe Sometime
..was created in pursuit and support of my practice-as-research PhD (awarded 2025). The performance manipulates the presence of two manifestations of a devolved autobiographical ‘I’. The first my self-conceptualisation as being a high functioning dead person emerging from the radical rupture of early childhood trauma. Second, the real-life person of Anna Bagenhölm who following a skiing accident was suspended head down under ice for 80 minutes with only her feet and skis remaining visible. During the 80 minutes Anna seesawed between life and death, held in both and neither by the protective qualities of hypothermia. Following a full blood transfusion that warmed and slowly returned the blood to Anna’s body, she returned to consciousness some three weeks later.
