I Could Go Anywhere

I am in the third year of a practice-as-research PhD at Essex University. The focus of the research are the complexities of being a writer-performer working within and from one’s own autobiographical trauma. It is developing through reflection on works I have made, critical reading, spectatorship and studio-based practice on a new work entitled I Maybe Sometime. I am developing a portfolio of performance ideas and will post about both those and the emerging critical ideas here. I am working with Lindsey Butcher, Seke Chimuwengtende and Eleanor Sikorski. Below, you can see some footage recorded at the Attenborough Centre for Creative Arts. I am playing with the legibility of the autobiographical body - devolving the autobiographical ‘I’.
